The University took over the enhanced role of Centre of Post-Graduate Instruction and Research (CPIR) which was set after the liberation of Goa by India in December 1961, by the University of Bombay (now Mumbai), in June 1962. Since 1985 Goa University offers graduate and post-graduate studies and research programmes.

 Educational Qualification/Experience: –  

 Lower Division Clerk:

• All India Council for Technical Education approved Diploma awarded by a recognized State Board of Technical Education or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
• Knowledge of Computer application/ operations with typing speed of 30 words per minutes in English.
• Knowledge of Konkani.
• 15 years Residence/Domicile Certificate in Goa issued by the competent authority.
• Knowledge of Marathi.

Binder:

• Passed the Secondary School Certificate ii) Examination from a recognised Board/ institution OR Successfully Completed the course conducted by a recognized Industrial Training Institute or equivalent, in any trade iv) ii) Two years experience as a Binder
• Should pass the qualifying trade test in Binding vi) conducted by Department vii) iv) Knowledge of Konkani
• 15 years Residence/Domicile Certificate in Goa ix) issued by the competent authority.
• Desirable Knowledge of Marathi

Multi Tasking Staff:

• Secondary School Certificate from a recognized Board. OR Passed course conducted by Industrial Training Institute or equivalent qualification, in relevant trade, from a recognized Institution. Note: Course conducted by Industrial Training Institute or equivalent qualification, in relevant trade, may be considered in case posts relates to technical work. Knowledge of Konkani.
• 15 years Residence/Domicile Certificate in Goa issued by the competent authority.
• Knowledge of Marathi.
• Multi-tasking skills such as knowledge of operating office machines including computers.

Age Limit: –

• 45 years (Relaxable by 5 years for persons in regular service of Government of Goa and for candidates belonging to reserved category i.e., SC/ST/OBC/PwDs as per Goa State Government rules.
