Organisation Name: HQ Southern Command

The Southern Command officially came into existence on 01 Apr 1895. However, the saga began on 31 December 1600 when Queen Elizabeth I granted a charter to “The Company of Merchants of London trading into the East Indies”. They obtained a “Farman” from Emperor Jahangir to establish a factory at Surat in 1613. This Company came to be known as the East India Company.

Through trade, the fortunes of the Company grew and its ambitions increased. In 1661, the East India Company acquired the Island of Bombay for the princely annual rental of £10. This Island, ceded by Portugal to England as part of Catherine of Braganza’s dowry, became the headquarters of the Bombay Presidency.

Qualification/ Experience:  

MTS:

• Matriculation pass or equivalent from recognized university
• Desirable: One year experience in the trade.

Cook:

• Matriculation pass or equivalent from recognized university
• Must have knowledge of Indian cooking and proficiency in trade

Washerman:

• Matriculation pass or equivalent from recognized university
• Desirable: One year experience in the trade.

Mazdoor:

• Matriculation pass or equivalent from recognized university
• Desirable: One year experience in the trade.

Age Limit (As on 08 October 2023): 18 – 25 Years for all posts

Age Relaxation:

• UR 18 yrs to 25 yrs
• OBC 18 yrs to 28 yrs
• SC/ST 18 yrs to 30 yrs

Salary:

• MTS – Rs 18000-56900/-
• Cook – Rs 19900-63200/-
• Washerman –  Rs 18000-56900/-
• Mazdoor –  Rs 18000-56900/-

Job Location:  Maharashtra 

Selection Process:

• written test will be held which will have questions of the level of Class 10th/12th/ITI as per essential educational qualification of respective post. Candidates appearing for written test would also be subjected to skill/ practical test (applicable for cook/ washerman only) if shortlisted, wherever applicable. Medium of written test will in Hindi/ English only.
