Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), the first integrated steel plant in the public sector in India, was set up with German collaboration with an installed capacity of 1 million tonnes. Its 1st Blast Furnace ‘Parvati’ was lighted up by Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the then President of India on 3rd February 1959. Subsequently, its capacity was enhanced to 2 million tonnes of hot metal, 1.9 million tonnes of crude steel and 1.67 million tonnes of saleable steel. After implementing a massive modernisation and expansion, Rourkela Steel Plant has enhanced its capacity to 4.5 million tonnes of Hot Metal and 4.2 Million Tonnes of Crude Steel.

The Modernisation and Expansion of Rourkela Steel Plant was dedicated to the Nation by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi on 1st April 2015. RSP was the first plant in India to incorporate LD technology of steel making. It is SAIL’s only plant that produces silicon steels for the power sector and high quality pipes for the oil & gas sector. Its wide and sophisticated product range includes various flat, tubular and coated products.

• Technician Apprentice – 136 Posts
• Graduate Apprentice – 51 Posts

Qualification:

• Trade Apprentice: ITI Passed out
• Technician Apprentice: Diploma Passed out
• Graduate Apprentice: Tech Passed out

 Experience: Freshers

Age Limit: Minimum 18 years and maximum 28 years as on date 10th August, 2024.

Age Relaxation:

• As per the guidelines of Govt. of Odisha, shall be followed with applicable age relaxation.

Salary: as per Apprentices Act, 1961

Job Location: Odisha

 Selection Process:

• Selection for engagement of Apprentices for training would be on merit basis, considering their percentage (%) of final marks obtained in the basic prescribed qualifications as applicable to respective branch/trade.

• ITI: Candidates are first required to register in the web portal http://apprenticeshipindia.gov.in for registration as candidate. After n for registering oneself, one can login into the home page in the apprenticeship portal as candidate then go to Apprenticeship Opportunity then click search by Establishments Name (SAIL ROURKELA STEEL PLANT) to click on apply as the prescribed trade against vacancies appearing on the portal. The candidates have to apply f for the respective trade through Apprenticeship Opportunity of the establishment SAIL Rourkela Steel Plant. The application will not be accepted without registration and apply on the portal.
• For Degree/Diploma: Candidates are advised to register as a student online on https://nats.education.gov.in. After registering oneself, one can login into the home page of NATS portal as candidate then go to Establishments Requests then click Find Establishments. Candidate should select STEEL AUTHORITY OF INDIA LIMITED, Rourkela Steel Plant, Rourkela apply in passed out branch of engineering appearing on the portal.
