BEG Centre Roorkee Recruitment :

The Bengal Engineer Group (BEG) (informally the Bengal Sappers or Bengal Engineers) is a military engineering regiment in the Corps of Engineers of the Indian Army. The unit was originally part of the Bengal Army of the East India Company’s Bengal Presidency, and subsequently part of the British Indian Army during the British Raj. The Bengal Sappers are stationed at Roorkee Cantonment in Roorkee, Uttarakhand.

The Bengal Sappers are one of the few remaining regiments of the erstwhile Bengal Presidency Army and survived the Rebellion of 1857 due to their “sterling work” in the recapture by the East India Company of Delhi and other operations in 1857–58. The troops of the Bengal Sappers have been a familiar sight for over 200 years in the battlefields of British India with their never-say-die attitude of Chak De and brandishing their favourite tool the hamber.

• MTS (Watchman) – 5 posts
• MTS (Gardener) – 5 posts
• MTS (Safaiwala) – 4 posts
• Lascar – 2 posts
• Washerman – 3 posts
• Barber –  4 posts

Qualification :- 

LDC:

• Higher secondary (12th Class) pass or its equivalent from a recognized Board of University
• Desirable: English typing at 35 wpm on computer. OR Hindi typing at 30 wpm on computer  )35 words per minute and 30 words per minute corresponding to 10500/ 9000 KDPH on an average of 5 key depression of each word)

Store keeper III:

• Higher secondary (12th Class) pass or its equivalent from a recognized Board of University
• Minimum one year experience in similar work
• Knowledge of computer in MS Word
• Certificate course in storekeeper/ store management.

Civil Trade Instructor (Electrician, Draughts men, Printing press operator):

• Matriculation Pass or equivalent from recognized board with Industrial Training Institute OR National Certificate of Trade & Vocational Training in the concerned trade.
• Should have adequate skilled and knowledge of imparting training to recruits.

Cook:

• Matriculation Pass or equivalent from recognized board
• Must have knowledge of Indian cooking and proficiency in trade.

MTS (Watchman/ Gardener/ Safaiwala),Lascar:

• Matriculation Pass or equivalent from recognized board
• Conversant with the duties of respective trades with one years’ experience with the trade.

Washerman:

• Matriculation Pass or equivalent from recognized board
• Must be able to wash military/ civilian clothes thoroughly well.

Barber:

• Matriculation Pass or equivalent from recognized board
• One year experience with the trade.

Experience :- Freshers/ Experienced

Age Limit :-

• Minimum Age : 18 Years
• Maximum Age : 25 Years
• Age Relaxation applicable as per Rules.

Salary :-

• LDC, Store keeper III, Civil Trade Instructor, Cook : Rs.19,900/ month
• MTS, Lascar, Washerman, Barber : Rs.18,000/ month

Selection Process :-

• The selection process for the above mentioned posts will be based on Written Examination and Skill Test
• Maximum 60 candidates per vacancy be called for Written examination based on marks obtained in minimum education qualification required for respective post.
• Similarly maximum 10 candidates per vacancy be called for skill test.
• In Written Examination for every wrong answer 0.25 marks will be deducted
• Practical Test will be conducted for individuals as per merit in Written examination
