Organisation Name:  Society for Applied Microwave Electronics Engineering & Research (SAMEER)

SAMEER was set up as an autonomous R & D laboratory at Mumbai under the then Department of Electronics, Government of India with a broad mandate to undertake R & D work in the areas of Microwave Engineering and Electromagnetic Engineering Technology. It is an offshoot of the special microwave products unit (SMPU) set up in 1977 at the Tata Institute Of Fundamental Research (TIFR), Mumbai. SAMEER, Mumbai was setup in 1984

The centre of Electromagnetics, Chennai of the then Department of Electronics (DOE) was merged with SAMEER in 1987.SAMEER Kolkata centre was set up in 1994 for research & Development in Millimetrewave Technology.A new centre is being established at Navi Mumbai campus of SAMEER for augmentation of EMI/EMC FACILITY for CE Marking of Electronics products.

Qualification/ Experience:

Senior Research Scientist:

• Discipline: Electronics/Electronics & Telecommunications
• Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Bachelor Degree in Technology (B.E. or B.Tech) or Master’s Degree in Engineering or Technology (M.E. or M.Tech) in the field of Electronics & Telecommunications, Electronics, Instrumentation & Controls, Microwaves or Masters in Electronics (M.Sc. Electronics) from a recognized University with minimum 55% marks.
• Experience: 5 years’ design and development experience. Candidate is required to have 5 years’ experience in few or more of the relevant areas

Research Scientist:

• Discipline: Electronics
• Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Bachelor Degree in Technology (B.E. or B.Tech) or Master’s Degree in Engineering or Technology (ME or M.Tech) in the field in Electronics & Telecommunications, Electronics, Instrumentation & Controls, Microwave or Masters in Electronics (M.Sc Electronics) from a recognized University with minimum 55% marks.
• Candidate is required to have interest and ability to work in few or more of the following domain areas – Design & Development of Electronics/ RF sub-system, Analysis, Integration and testing of Electronics/ RF/Microwave components, embedded processing for FPGA/ARM based processors, PLC/FPGA based Control Systems and similar activities,

Project Assistant:

Project Assistant “A (PA-EL):

• Diploma in Electronics/Medical Electronics from a recognized Technical Board with minimum of 55% marks
• Electronics /Microwave /Medical Electronics component level bread-board/printed circuit design experimentation, monitoring, fault analysis, test bench reports, integration, field evaluation activities, Physical and Visual Inspections and laboratory upkeep and maintenance.

Project Assistant “A (PA-PH):

• Sc. (Physics) from a recognized university with minimum of 55% marks
• Vacuum Tube processing, design experimentation, monitoring, analysis, test bench reports, integration & evaluation activities and maintenance activities, PI and VI activities, maintenance of test equipment etc.

Project Technician:

 Project Technician: “A (PT-EL):

• Candidates should have passed ITI (Electronics) from Govt. affiliated board of technical/vocational education and completed NCTVT with minimum of 55% marks.
• Electronics/Microwave component level soldering, cabling, harnessing, assembly of modules, Physical and Visual Inspections, laboratory upkeep and maintenance, assisting in field evaluation etc.

Project Technician: “A (PT-FT):

• Candidate should have passed ITI (Fitter) from Govt. affiliated board of technical/vocational education and completed NCTVT with minimum of 55% marks
• Fitting activities including drilling, tapping, cutting and bending, assembly of parts, housing and overall equipment/ system. General upkeep of facility

Project Technician: “A (PT-MC):

• Candidate should have passed ITI (Machinist) from Govt. affiliated board of technical/vocational education and completed NCTVT with minimum of 55% marks.
• 3 yrs or more work experience required in relevant activity. Machining of precision components on milling machines in tool room type workshops and general upkeep of facility.

Project Technician: “A (PT-TU):

• Candidate should have passed ITI (Turner) from Govt. affiliated board of technical/vocational education and completed NCTVT with minimum of 55% marks.
• 3 yrs or more work experience required in relevant activity. Turning of precision components on turning machines in tool room type workshops and general upkeep of facility.

 Upper Age Limit to apply / be eligible for post:

• 35 years for Senior Research Scientist
• 30 years for Research Scientist
• 25 years for Project Assistants (A) and Project Technicians
• 35 years for Project Technicians (B)

Salary:

• Senior Research Scientist: Rs. 39,200/- per month (5 years or more experience)
• Research Scientist: Rs. 30,000/- per month
• Project Assistant (A): Rs. 17,000/- per month
• Project Technician (A): Rs. 15,100/- per month
• Project Technician (B): Rs. 19,100/- per month (3yrs or more experience)
