Organisation Name: Staff Selection Commission (SSC)

The Commission is headed by a Chairman who is assisted by two Members and a Secretary-cum-Controller of Examinations. They are further supported by other officers and Staff of the HQ (Organization Chart at Appendix III) and by a Regional Network of offices established at various locations. The Headquarter of the Commission is located at New Delhi.

 

 

Headquarter The Staff Selection Commission has its Headquarter at New Delhi. All Examinations as well as administrative matters are submitted to the Chairman through two Members. The Secretary functions under both the Members. Besides, there are post of one Director, one Deputy Secretary, two Joint Directors, nine Under Secretaries, four Deputy Directors, one Finance & Budget Officer, one Assistant Director (OL), 24 Section Officers and more than 183 supporting officers / staff working at the Headquarters for discharging the duties and responsibilities of the Commission. An Organisational Chart of the Commission (Hqrs.) is given at Appendix II,. The functions of various Branches/Sections of the Hqrs. are briefly outlined under the heading “Functions of the Sections”.

Qualification:

Border Roads Organization (BRO):

• JE (C): Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University/Institute; or (a) Three years Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized University/Institute/Board; and Two years working experience in Planning/Execution/Maintenance of Civil Engineering works
• JE (E & M): Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University/Institute; or Three years Diploma in Electrical/Automobile/Mechanical Engineering

Central Public Works Department (CPWD):

• JE (C): Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized University or Institute.
• JE (E): Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University or Institute

Central Water Commission:

• JE (C): Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized University or Institution.
• JE (M): Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University or Institution

Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation (Brahmaputra Board):

• JE (C): Three years Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized University or Institution

Farakka Barrage Project (FBP):

• JE (C): Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized University or Institute or Board.
• JE (M): Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University or Institute or Board.

Military Engineer Services (MES):

• JE (C): Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University; or Three years Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized Institute or University or Board and Two years’ experience in Planning, Execution and Maintenance of Civil Engineering works.
• JE (E & M): from a recognized University; or Three years diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized Institute or University or Board; and Two years’ experience in Planning, Execution and Maintenance of Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Works

Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways (Andaman Lakshadweep Harbour Works):

• JE (C): Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized Institution
• JE (M): Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized Institution.

National Technical Research Organization (NTRO):

• JE(C): Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized University/Institution.
• JE (E): Diploma in Electrical Engineering from a recognized University/Institution
• JE (M): Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University/Institution.

Experience: Fresher’s

Age Limit: 30 – 32 Years

 Age Relaxations:

• 5 years for SC/ST
• 3 years for OBC
• 10 Years for Persons with Disabilities.
• 13 years for PwD + OBC
• 15 years for  PwD + SC/ ST
• ESM: 3 years after deduction of the military service rendered from the actual age.
• Defense Personnel: 03 – 08 years
• Others as per the Govt.Rules

Salary:  Rs 35,400 – 1,12,400/-
