East Coast Railway Recruitment:

 

East Coast Railway – one of the blue chip zones of Indian Railways came into existence in its present form with effect from 1st April 2003. Since then, the new zonal railway headquarter has been functioning at Bhubaneswar, the capital city in the state of Orissa.

The geographical jurisdiction of the railway is however extended over three states encompassing almost all parts of Orissa alongwith parts of Srikakulam, Vizainagaram & Visakhapatnam districts of North Eastern Andhra Pradesh, and Bastar & Dantewada districts of Chhatisgarh State. As such, these regions with a long coastal line are rich in mineral and other natural resources, and are on the threshold of an industrial upsurge.

Candidates Have To Choose Only One Unit. The Units are as under:

• Carriage Repair Workshop, Mancheswar, Bhubaneswar – 190 Posts
• Khurda Road Division- 237 Posts
• Waltair Division – 263 Posts
• Sambalpur Division – 66 Posts

Qualification :-

• The candidate must have passed 10th class examination or its equivalent (under 10+2 examination system) with minimum 50% marks, in aggregate, from recognized Board and also should possess the National Trade Certificate in the notified trade issued by NCVT/SCVT.

Experience :- Freshers

Age Limit :-

• The candidates should have completed 15 years of age and should not have completed 24 years of age as on the cut-off date for receiving application that is to say 07.03.2022.

• Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years in case of SC/ST candidates, 3 years in case of OBC candidates. For Persons with Disability, upper age limit is relaxed by 10 years.

• Upper age limit is relaxable by up to additional 10 years for ex-servicemen to the extent of service rendered in Defence Forces plus 03 years provided they have put in a minimum of 6 months service at a stretch, except Ex-servicemen who have already joined the Govt. service on Civil side after availing the servicemen status for the purpose of their engagement

Selection Process :-

• Selection will be on the basis of merit list prepared in respect of all the candidates who apply against the notification. The merit list will be prepared by taking average of matriculation [with minimum 50% (aggregate) marks] plus ITI (in the trade in which Apprenticeship is to be done) marks. The panel will be prepared taking the average of the %age marks obtained by the candidate in both matriculation and ITI examination giving equal weightage to both. e.g., A candidate secured 80.58 % marks in Matriculation examination and 91.68% marks in ITI, then qualifying marks for selection will be ½ [80.58 + 91.68] = 86.13.

• Shortlisted candidates, thus enlisted, will be called for document/Certificate verification to the extent of 1.5 times of the notified vacancies.
• In case of two candidates having the same marks, the candidates with older age shall be preferred. In case the dates of birth are also the same, then the candidate who passed matriculation examination earlier shall be considered first.

• A final merit list will be prepared unit wise, trade wise and community wise, equal to the number of slots in the descending order of percentage of marks obtained by the candidate, as stated above

Qualification / Experience :-  

• A Degree or its equivalent from a recognized university.
• 12th (+2 stage) or its equivalent, with 80 words per minute in Shorthand (Hindi/English) for a duration of 10 minutes which will be transcribed in typing in 50 minutes for English and in 65 minutes for Hindi, for the post of Jr. Stenographer.
• 12th (+2 stage) or its equivalent examination. (OR) 10th pass from a recognized Board may also apply to be posted as Tech-III. However, the training period for such sports quota appointees will be 3 (three) years, unless they passes ITI qualification in the relevant Trades, in which case it will be 6 months.

Age Limit :-

• Minimum 18 years and Maximum 25 years of age as on 01.07.2022. (Note: Matriculation or its equivalent certificate from recognized board should be submitted for date of birth proof). No age relaxation is allowed even for SC/ST/OBC candidates.

Reservation:

• There is no such reservation for SC/ST/OBC communities. The candidates having the required performance in the particular sports discipline will be selected on the basis of overall merit secured irrespective of their communities.

Salary :-

• Level-3/ Level-2 – Rs.2000 to 1900/-
• Level-4/ Level-5 – Rs.2400 to Rs.2800/-

Selection Process :-

• Selection will be based upon performance in sports Trials and Sports Certificate (Sports & Educational) Verification will be done by a duly constituted Recruitment Committee of this railway. The venue & date for Trials and Certificate Verification will be intimated to the eligible candidates.

• Maximum marks which can be awarded by the Trial Committee for performance during Trial and Recruitment Committee during Interview Stage, shall be as follows:-
